Yesterday, i helped my friend to format her laptop. After all the process completed, i plug my pendrive into her laptop to install some basic software. During that time, her laptop could detect my pendrive as well. Then i installed all the drivers need for the system. After restart her laptop, i found out that the system won’t detect my pendrive. I wondered why but i realized that happened after i installed all the drivers. After did some searching from google, finally i found out a solution. Hehe if this problem happen to you, just follow these steps:
1. Go to my computer.
2. Right click and choose “manage”
3. Under “Computer Management Local”, click at “system tools” and then choose “device manager”
4. At the right side, look at “Universal Serial Bus Controllers”
5. You’ll find “USB root hub” with yellow question mark icon.
6. Right click at there and choose “uninstall”
7. After that restart your computer.
For the next time you plug in USB drive, Windows will automatically install it for you.
p/s: this solution i used only for Windows XP. For other type of Windows, i’m not sure whether it succesful or not..

This tweak gives a user the opportunity to use it for good or bad. It enables the user to re-password any account without having to know the existing password and also shows you every account that exists on the machine (even the ones that are hidden). This is a good tool to use if you forgot a password to say your administrator account and you needed to be logged into the admin account for any reason.
To view all of the user accounts:
1) While logged onto the computer, click on Start>Run>and type in CMD.
2)From the command prompt window, type in net users. This will show you
every account that is made onto the computer whether it is hidden or
not.
—————————————————————–
To change an account password:
1) While logged onto the computer to an account that has administrative rights, click on Start>Run>and type in CMD.
2) Type in net user then the name of the account then * and press enter. heres an example: net user administrator * or net user “Joe Smith” * .Put the name in quotes if it contains spaces.
3) From there it should ask for a new password. Type in your new password (type very carefully – the command window won’t display what you type) and once more to confirm it. If you get the message that the command succeeded successfully you’re all set!!

These are few steps to make your firefox run at lightining speed
1. First in the URL bar, Type “about:config”. This will bring up a list of commands and variables you can edit.
2. The second step is to put “network.http.pipelining” in the filter and change the value to “true”.
3. After that you will want to put “network.http.proxy.pipelining” in the filter.
Like the last one, make that value set to “true” also.
4. Next, locate “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” and change the value to some number higher, say 10,20 or even 30, it would make up to 10,20 or 30 requests at once.
5. The last step is to right click anywhere and select “New” then “Integer”. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and make its value “0″. This will make the browser respond faster on the information of the websites it receives.
6. Close out FireFox (make sure FireFox is closed by viewing the Task Manager) and restart it and enjoy the new mega speed.
Now you can browse through the net in top speed of your internet connection

Shut Down Windows XP in Different Ways
There are so many different ways to turn off your Windows XP computer, let’s look at some of them:
1. The standard approach – click the Start Button with your mouse, then select the Turn Off menu and finally click the Turn Off icon on the Turn Off computer dialog.
2. Press Ctrl+Esc key or the Win key and press u two times – the fastest approach.
3. Get the Shutdown utility from Download.com – it add the shut down shortcuts for you. Else create them yourself using approach 4.
4. Create a shutdown shortcut on your desktop. Right click on the desktop, choose New Shortcut and type shutdown -s -t 00 in the area where you are asked to specify the location of the program file. Now you can just double click this icon to turn off the computer. The best location would be your quick launch bar.
5. Press the Win key + R key to open the run window. Type shutdown -s -t 00. [s means shutdown while t means the duration after which you want to initiate the shutdown process].
If some open processes or application won’t let you turn off, append a -f switch to force a shut down by closing all active processes.
6. Win+M to minimize all windows and then Alt+F4 to bring the Turn Off computer dialog.
7. Open Windows Task manager (by right clicking the Windows Task bar or Alt+Ctrl+Del) and choose Shut down from the menu. Useful when the Windows are not responding.
8. open task manager—>click on shutdown—>hold the ctrl key and click on Turn off::::::: pc will be turned off in 3 secs. Fastest method other than hard shutdown
