Cisco VPN – Client driver has encountered an error

If user received an error as below while login into cisco VPN:





Problem caused due to a corrupt of Windows driver database. The Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client attempts to use this driver database and the operation is unsuccessful due to existing corruption.


The windows driver database needs to be recreated by follow step as below:

Open a command prompt at the affected machine. (Start > Run > type cmd > press enter)
Type command as below (row by row)

net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
net start cryptsvc

After that try to connect to cisco VPN again. If cannot, try to reboot the machine first
